Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 31, 2026
Welcome to Parrofy. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Jaryon Inc., a New York corporation doing business as Parrofy (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and that your information will be handled as described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, including:
- Name, email address, and contact information
- Account credentials
- Profile information (e.g., role as student, parent, or counselor)
- Academic information (e.g., GPA, test scores, transcripts, extracurricular activities)
- College preferences and application materials (e.g., essays, personal statements)
- Communication preferences
We may also automatically collect certain information when you use the Services, including:
- Device information (e.g., browser type, operating system)
- Usage data (e.g., pages visited, features used, timestamps)
- IP address and general location data
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our Services
- Generate personalized AI-powered college recommendations and guidance
- Process your transactions and manage your account
- Facilitate connections between students and counselors
- Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
- Communicate with you about products, services, and events
- Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and platform performance
- Protect the safety, integrity, and security of the Services
3. AI-Powered Features and Your Data
Parrofy uses artificial intelligence (“AI”) to analyze information you provide and generate personalized recommendations, insights, summaries, and guidance related to college planning and applications.
You should understand that:
- AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or outdated information.
- You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before relying on it or making decisions.
- AI outputs are informational only and are not professional, legal, financial, educational, admissions, or counseling advice.
- College recommendations and application guidance do not guarantee admission, scholarships, financial aid, or any other outcome.
- We may use trusted third-party AI providers to deliver certain AI-powered features. These providers process information only as necessary to provide the Services and under appropriate contractual protections.
- We do not use your personal information to train generalized AI models outside the scope of providing the Services unless disclosed and permitted by law or with your consent.
- Parrofy does not make legally binding or similarly significant decisions solely through automated processing. AI-generated results are intended to assist students, parents, and counselors, not replace human judgment.
4. FERPA and Student Records
Parrofy processes student educational records in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Students (or parents/guardians, where applicable) retain ownership of their education records
- Education records are only shared with authorized users and service providers necessary to operate the Services
- Users are responsible for granting and managing access permissions within the platform
- We do not disclose education records to third parties without consent, except as permitted or required by law
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share your information with:
- Service providers who assist in our operations (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processing)
- Advertising and measurement partners, specifically Google, through tags loaded by Google Tag Manager. If — and only if — you accept non-essential cookies, these tags may share online identifiers (such as cookie identifiers, device identifiers, and IP address) with Google so we can measure which advertising campaigns lead to sign-ups and, where permitted, advertise the Services to you on other sites. This does not include your profile, academic records, essays, or other content you provide to the Services
- Counselors you choose to connect with through the platform, to facilitate advising services
- Professional advisors (e.g., legal, accounting) as needed for business operations
- Law enforcement or government authorities when required by law or to protect safety and rights
Any third parties who receive your data are required to handle it in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Some U.S. state privacy laws define “sharing” or “targeted advertising” broadly enough to cover the use of advertising cookies described above, even where no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time by selecting Cookie Settingsin the footer of any page and choosing “Reject,” which stops these tags and deletes the advertising and analytics cookies already stored in your browser.
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encryption, secure authentication, and access controls.
While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify affected users and applicable regulators as required by law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. We may also retain data as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personally identifiable information within a commercially reasonable period. Information that has been anonymized or aggregated so that it can no longer reasonably identify you may be retained for analytics and service improvement purposes. Data required for legal compliance (such as financial and transaction records) may be retained as permitted by law.
8. Children’s Privacy
Parrofy is intended for users who are at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
Users between 13 and 18 years old should have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Services.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience, analyze usage, measure the performance of our advertising, and support the functionality of the Services. When you first visit our website, you will be presented with a consent banner that allows you to accept or reject non-essential cookies.
Analytics and advertising technologies — including Google Analytics and Google Ads conversion and remarketing tags, loaded through Google Tag Manager — are configured to remain inactive by default and are enabled only after you accept. You may change or withdraw that choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the footer of any page.
We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends GPC, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information: analytics and advertising technologies stay switched off, any analytics or advertising cookies already stored in your browser for the Services are deleted, and we do not ask you to reconsider. Because the signal takes precedence over an earlier acceptance, the only way to allow these cookies is to turn GPC off in your browser and then accept them.
For detailed information about the cookies we use, please see our Cookie Policy.
10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to Know: You may request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purpose for collecting it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it
- Right to Delete: You may request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: We do not sell your personal information for money. If you accept non-essential cookies, our use of advertising cookies may qualify as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CCPA. You may opt out at any time — and prevent any such sharing before it begins — by selecting Cookie Settings in the footer of any page and choosing “Reject”
- Opt-Out Preference Signals: We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. If your browser sends GPC, the opt-out is applied automatically, for that browser, without any further action by you
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights
To exercise your rights, contact us at privacy@parrofy.com. We will verify your identity before processing your request and respond within 45 days.
11. Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
If you reside in a U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah), you may have rights similar to those described above, including the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing, such as targeted advertising or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Several of these laws require us to recognize a universal opt-out mechanism. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal for this purpose, and applying it requires nothing of you beyond enabling the signal in your browser.
To opt out of targeted advertising specifically, select Cookie Settings in the footer of any page and choose “Reject.” To exercise any other right, contact us at privacy@parrofy.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
12. Your Rights
In addition to the rights described above, you may also have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to or restrict the processing of your information
- Request portability of your data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@parrofy.com.
13. Business Transfers
If Jaryon Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law and confidentiality protections.
14. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law, users may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of their personal information.
- Students may manage their profile information, application materials, and account settings.
- Parents may manage information associated with their parent account and connected student accounts where applicable.
- Counselors may manage their profile information and account preferences.
- All users may accept, reject, or withdraw consent for analytics and advertising cookies at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer of any page.
- All users may opt out automatically by enabling Global Privacy Control in their browser, which we honor without requiring any further action.
- All users may request account deletion or privacy assistance by contacting privacy@parrofy.com.
15. Service Providers
We may use trusted service providers to support the operation of Parrofy, including providers for cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, advertising measurement, payment processing, communications, customer support, and AI-powered functionality. These providers are authorized to process information only as necessary to provide services to us, except for advertising partners acting as independent controllers of the online identifiers described in Section 5, whose own privacy notices and controls are linked in our Cookie Policy.
16. International Users and Service Availability
The Services are designed for use within the United States and are intended to support applications to U.S. colleges and universities. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, and by using the Services you consent to that transfer. We make no representation that the Services are appropriate or available for use in other locations.
17. Third-Party Links
The Services may contain links to third-party websites or resources that are not owned or controlled by Parrofy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site before providing it with information.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
